A one-piece 9-footer is a great stick for throwing irons off the pier or the boat, and a headache to get shipped. The Teleios models are the 2-piece versions of Rainshadow’s RX7 Multipurpose Saltwater blanks: same RX7 series, split on a spigot ferrule so the blank ships under the 8-foot carrier limit, then glued together when the rod is built.
Because the split sits toward the butt, the finished rod feels and fishes almost exactly like a one-piece blank. The spigot also keeps the blank diameter the same on both sides of the joint, so handle components go on straight over the glued ferrule.
All three models are built on Rainshadow’s RX7 graphite with a moderate-fast action and a matte gray finish. Rainshadow rates them for saltwater jigging, pier fishing and casting irons, with musky on the freshwater side.
The Medium is the lighter jig and pier stick. The Medium-Heavy and Heavy step up for heavier irons and bigger fish, and the Heavy handles lures up to 6 oz.
