The Owner Cultiva Short Chaser (JCS-39) is the EX-short version of Owner’s proven Jigger Medium Chase assist hook, built to pull double duty: a single rear (tail) hook for jigs and a plug assist for casting. The short assist cord keeps the hook tucked tight to the lure so it swings cleanly and stays out of the way on the cast.

What sets the Chase hook apart is how little pressure it takes to bury the point, it bites and penetrates with minimal hook-setting force, which is exactly what you want when there’s a long stretch of line and slack between you and the fish. Think long casts into busting tuna, or dropping a jig deep on a drift where a hard hookset just isn’t in the cards. It’s rigged on Owner’s high-strength Zaxion Black assist cord with a welded, break-proof solid ring. A go-to rear hook for tuna and yellowtail on the drift, and a dependable plug assist for shore or offshore big-fish casting.

Made in Japan. Sizes 5/0 through 11/0, hook strength scales with size, from about 47 lb (5/0) up to 105 lb (11/0), on #5-#6 welded solid rings with 140-240 lb Zaxion Black assist cord.
