Jigging and repeated hooksets drive the butt of the rod into your hip or belly, cast after cast. The Cush-It Big Bass from Luna Sea caps the rod end with a soft foam cushion, so you can lean into the rod without the bruise.

Big Bass is the larger-bore sibling of the Elite Bass, the model we list as the Cush-It Inshore. Both stand 4″ tall, but the Big Bass opening fits rod ends from 1″ to 1 3/8″ in diameter, for rod butts too thick for the Elite Bass. Luna Sea designs both to cushion and float smaller inshore and inland rods.

Sizing

Between 1″ and 1 3/8″ across the end of your rod butt, the Big Bass is the one. Under 1″, go with the Inshore (Elite Bass), which fits 3/4″ to 1 1/16″. The size chart in the photos shows the Cush-It lineup side by side.
