TG jigs have become a go-to as a super quick dropping alternative to the traditional knife jigs and even sinkers. The Hideyoshi is a larger, more active shape that has action on a free fall and a quick descent on a controlled fall. These jigs can be used for night/daytime bluefin as well as deep water slow pitch jigging due to its asymmetrical shape.
Bozles is a leading manufacturer of tungsten jigs with the most variety of shapes and sizes all the way from 15g to 400g. It’s an expensive and hard material to work with due to its high melting point, but the end result is a jig that is around 70% heavier for the same overall volume when compared to lead. This lets you mimic a smaller profile bait while still fishing the same depth in heavy current.
The 250g size is only 5″ long, so it’s perfect at matching small baits without having to fish lighter line or dealing with excessive scope and angle. The 300g carries the same idea into deeper water and harder current: more weight to get down and hold bottom without stepping up to a bigger silhouette. That’s Bozles’ own reasoning for the shape. In deep water or fast current the weight you need has always forced you into a larger jig, and being able to run one or two sizes more compact is what gets bit when the bite is tough or the fish are keyed on small bait.
