The Classic series of reels have been replaced by the G2 line up but Avet was holding on to some inventory so we’re able to pass this deal on to you. At $100 off these are an awesome deal for guys looking to get a lighter live bait or bottom fishing reel. Avet rates the SX at 10-25lb, and with 9lbs of drag at strike there is enough there to fish 25lb line comfortably most people set drag to a quarter or a third of the line’s breaking test, which is what makes that work. This one even comes as a two speed and with the magnetic cast control. These reels came from several batches so please keep in mind that the green color will vary for some reels. These reels don’t come with the glide plate unlike the G2 and Raptor models.

Big power, small size! A little SX that’s on steroids! Yep, two-speeds, tiny size, machined aluminum, 6+2 bearings, all sorts of freespool, carbon fiber drags, new ergonomic handle, updated lever…incredible and unique. The new SX is certainly not for everyone, it’s not inexpensive and it’s not what most folks will use for taming huge fish. But, you’ve got to appreciate what they’ve been able to accomplish on such a small reel. I can see a lot of reasons to possess one of these little guys. Chief among them is that you’ve got speed when you need it and power when you need it too! There is also a certain joy that comes from owning such a nifty piece of engineering, as well.
