A gaff you can hold at the ready all day. AFTCO’s Whip Gaff runs a carbon fiber shaft, so the whole tool comes in under a pound, light enough that you’re not fighting it on a long drift, stiff and strong enough to bury the hook when a fish finally shows.

The hook is AFTCO’s proven corrosion-resistant stainless steel, set with the same manufacturing process they use across their gaff line so it won’t twist loose or pull out under a hard, loaded stick. A rubber gimbal on the butt is the detail that earns its keep: drop the gaff into a rod holder and it won’t spin, so the hook stays oriented and ready to grab. High-grip shrink-tube grips keep your hands locked on when everything’s wet.

Which hook size

Both 6-foot models share the same shaft, gimbal, and grips. Only the hook changes. The 2″ 5/16″ is the lighter-duty pick for inshore and mid-size fish; the 3″ 3/8″ opens a wider throat and heavier wire for bigger pelagics.
