This is the Blue Current III 82 in Yamaga Blanks’ VIVID 2025 Limited Color and Design Edition: the same do-everything light-game blank, dressed in a limited-run green colorway with gold accents you won’t find on the standard model. Made in Japan, in the spirit Yamaga prints right on the blank: “simple things done well.”
The 82 is the almighty stick of the light-game category, and a true power-finesse model. At 8’2″ it’s tuned sharper than the previous version for extra casting distance, with an enhanced butt section that still bends smoothly through the whole blank and recovers with power. The tip stays sensitive and flexible, telegraphing everything you need to feel, so it’s right at home on spooky, selective fish holding in weed or current well off the shoreline.
It’s a genuine one-rod-does-it-all: work 7-9 cm plugs for seabass and black seabream, or swim a jig head up to 20 g for rockfish. Ports, rocks, estuaries, or the surf. The 82 covers the light-game map.
